Rides, Rides and More Rides

This layout is in honor of the start of my grandson's third birthday!  To be three an find the joy in the simplest things is a lesson for us all.

A trip to the zoo started out his birthday celebration an as you can see he love each ride.  He is small for his age so he finally reached 36" and was able to ride the junior roller coaster!  He has been told over and over he was too short to get on even the kiddie rides so he was super excited.

This week I use the Cutting Cafe's file Camera shaped photo holder http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2010/11/camera-photo-shaped-holder-templatecutting-file.html
I sewed it on the page and was able to add additional photos in the pocket it created.  I just love the Cutting Cafe's files and I love using them on my layouts!

Stop on over at the Cutting Cafe blog and see all the creative ways the design team has used the camera and Polaroid files this week.

Have a great one!

Getting Easter Ready!

This weeks design team project included a variety of cutting files to choose from, one of them being this adorable dress form that can be cut as a card and has two sizes included along with 12 sentiments. http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2012/04/fun-with-dress-formstemplate-cutting-file-printable-set.html  Just such a lovely file.

I decided to make the smaller size even smaller so it could be used as a pin on my easter sweater.
I used distress paints and ultra think embossing powder on the top layer of the dress form and then cracked it to give it a vintage look, add a little ribbon an little rolled paper flower and glue a pin back on and you are all set to go with a custom Easter pin!

Have a great week!

Feeling Lucky!

Think Green and Lucky for the month of March!

This weeks design team challenge at The Cutting Cafe was to use one of the many cute St. Patrick's Day printable stamps or cutting files!

I created this cute little Lucky card to send to a special friend since we all need to be feel appreciated and we can all use a little LUCK!

The file used to create this card was the Lucky Word Shaped Template Card http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/.services/blog/6a010536b71e2d970b010536b71e33970b/search?filter.q=lucky+card.

I embossed the Lucky word, added a little twine and a sentiment and the card came together quickly, send a little luck and friendship out via snail mail, it is sure to bring a smile to someone dear to you!

Have a great week!
